State Assemblyman Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) has accomplished what has been done only once since Proposition 65 was enacted in 1986.  The assemblyman on Sept. 15 received a unanimous vote from both houses of California’s legislature to enact his Proposition 65 reform legislation (AB 1583).

OEHHA Releases Hazard Identification Materials for Chlorpyrifos

California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has compiled a set of Hazard Identification Materials that will be used by the state’s Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DART-IC), the state’s scientific expert panel for reproductive and developmental toxicity, when it convenes in November to consider whether Chlorpyrifos, a widely used pesticide that is sprayed on crops such as strawberries, causes reproductive toxicity and/or developmental harm.
