Three public health advocacy groups have filed a notice of intent to sue Occidental Chemical Corporation for the company's alleged failure to inform the U.S. EPA that it had imported nearly 900,000 lbs. of asbestos.  The notice represents the first step in a citizen enforcement action under TSCAsomething that has not happened in 27 years.

Implementation of the U.S. EPA’s long-awaited rule pertaining to formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products has been delayed by the Trump administration’s “Regulatory Freeze Pending Review."

The freeze is intended to review pending regulations before they can be adopted and implemented.  The new administration is particularly concerned about recent regulations promulgated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

A Freshman House Republican has proposed a bill that would “completely abolish” the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) recently wrote to other legislators asking for co-sponsors on the bill, that if passed would shutter the EPA by the end of this year.
