Implementation of the U.S. EPA’s long-awaited rule pertaining to formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products has been delayed by the Trump administration’s “Regulatory Freeze Pending Review."

Humidifier manufacturer Gree will pay the maximum civil penalty of $15.45 million in a CPSC settlement accepted by commissioners by a vote of 4-1.
Commissioner Ann Marie Buerkle was the only commissioner that voted against imposing the maximum penalty. Buerkle has not supported severe penalties in recent agency enforcement actions.
